316 Stainless Steel Wire Mesh
Type 316 stainless steel wire mesh is the second most widely used stainless steel alloy in the industrial wire mesh industry (304 is the most common). Type 316 stainless steel (SS316) is stabilized by adding 2% molybdenum to provide better corrosion resistance to many salts and acids, as well as enhanced pitting resistance to salt water, brine and chloride salts. 316 can be used in bleaching solutions with no more than 2% hydrochloric acid.
316 stainless steel mesh has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in the warm chloride environment with excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Compared with the 304 stainless steel, molybdenum (Mo) is the main factor in improving corrosion resistance.
316 stainless steel welded wire mesh and woven wire mesh are mainly used in chemical/petrochemical, food processing and pharmaceutical equipment/medical equipment industries.
